My Dad went to the oncologist yesterday. They've prescribed him morphine for the pain and want to put him on the drug Sutent to reduce the tumors. It does not cure the cancer just shrinks the tumors and provides a bit more time. Problem is the stuff is expensive as h*ll and their insurance doesn't cover it. They are going to check through the VA and see if he can get it through them, but I don't think it's likely. Not sure why the doctor even recommended it to him. It's like dangling a carrot in front of a horse that cannot reach it. Sigh...
