Thanks, Wonka. Can't say it's been a wonderful day here myself. What a sh1t show.

Our Super Bowl party was lively, including 3 cops, 2 in uniform cause they were on duty (not drinking), but most of the rest of us were. Lots of F bombs, which got worse with each passing minute. The only 2 people who didn't were my D16 and the elderly mother of one of the other guests. It was awful. I haven't heard that many F bombs since I worked for the Navy. If I didn't have to worry about D16, I'd have gotten really drunk and taken one of the cops up on their offer for an escort home. Plus I had to work today. Ugh.

I'm ready for the Olympics. I love them. In fact, I was in labor in 1994 with D19 while watching the super G. Kind of fitting. Can't believe she's going to be 20 in a few weeks. Fastest 20 years of my life!

My former boss (party host) met with the oncologist on Friday. There is no further treatment. He has weekly movie dates with the off duty cop (who is my friend too), and they want me to start joining them. We're going to see Nebraska on Saturday. I'm going to give him as much of me as he can handle and provided I can still work. My gut tells me we don't have long to make the most out of it. I did tell him that if anyone could cheat death, it was him. He laughed.

So now I know the reason I'm not wanting to date. Maybe after this is all over and I give myself permission to grieve. He's been my mentor for 22 years now, and pretty much another member of my family. BA, we might have to have scotch night sooner rather than later...

I also have an appointment with the collision repair folks on Friday. Lovely. I get to find out how expensive it is to be a dolt.
