I am happy that you feel that things are progressing nicely. I would caution you to be careful. I may be wrong but it seems like you may be living in the "friend" zone, which is good becuase of your daughter..may not be so good as it relates to a future R with your X.
Based on your post...
1) She contacts you often - usually this is follwed by you having to fix or do something.
2) She mentioned that she needs a man. By your own admission, she seems to pay for everythign and you do not have many resources.
3) She has you over when she is lonely...yet you are sleeping on the sofa.
I am not saying that you are not making progress, I am just worried that you are working to hard to just be a friend.
