In any event, I still maintain he'll use excuses to not pick up the kids. If not for you being you, you would almost feel like the babysitter in the coming months. He'll use excuses like he has to sell the house and has to renovate. Or that he needs to sell the house and can't have the kids there because it has to be kept pristine; they won't feel at home if they can't mess it up. Or he has to work late and can't get to his OW's and pick up the kids at the same time. Or he has to stop and get milk, can you just keep them for tonight?
It'll happen. The arrangement is the minimum they will be with you, but I would guess they'll be there much much more over the next 12 months. Holidays and show times excluded
