UHaul is good if you move within the town or 1-hour radius. For longer distances, I use professional moving services.

In my case, I moved to another part of the town so I used UHaul that was, I believe, 12' long. Made several round trips. I'd say about 3 trips moving all of the heavy furniture and boxes all day from 8 am to 6 pm.

The UHaul truck alone cost me $53.00 plus I paid gas to fill it up before returning to the local store.

ASK!!

You just need to get from Point A to Point B. It's hard to ask, but everyone has the right to say No. Ask the question and see what happens. You will be surprised how many people are happy to help you. Those who know you and the situation will be glad to get you and the kids outta there.

I know I'd come to help.

Isn't your son 16? Perhaps he and some of his friends can move that stuff. Then you pay them. They'll be thrilled with some extra cash.

The teens who moved my stuff were high school seniors.

No, my son is only 12. And it's his weekend with his dad and he will probably cart them up to OW's house. Unless I wait until next weekend but that's a busy weekend for us.

IDK what I'm gonna do. I don't have anyone to ask. I have had people offer, but they are not what you would call young strapping men whatsoever. I am trying to think outside of the dam box.

Did you get the insurance? It's only $14.

No, I did not get the insurance because I drove the UHaul and wouldn't let anyone else drive it. Some purchase insurance for added security. It is a personal choice.

I don't play cards. And all my family and classmates are from indiana. So no dice. I am a pretty sheltered person, aren't I?

My neighbors offered to help, but they are older and I feel bad. Moving is a big deal and I don't feel like I can just bother people that I don't know very well.

If I have my own car insurance policy do you think that is enough? Just testing the waters. I am soooo out of my element with this.

Did you get any quotes from a moving company? It's worth checking out if you don't know anyone to ask.
