I am kind of freaking out about it still. I am packed except for some everyday stuff, but I am worried about the big heavy stuff. I can rent a Uhaul, but I am very concerned about my glass curio. I can't bear the thought of that thing breaking. Dressers, beds, boxes, etc. I have no problem loading and unloading, but how do I protect my curio?

The curio can be wrapped in padded pads provided by UHaul with duct tape around it. Then placed against the boards within the UHaul truck and tied down with latches to secure it in place.
In my case, when I moved, I had two teenage guys doing the heavy lifting moving large furniture in and out of the truck all day. There were a few breaks in between to grab sandwiches, munchies and water. The two teenage guys I found through a friend who had a co-worker that had a teenage son and he brought along his best friend. They were thrilled that they got $80.00 in pocket money each. Saved me a bundle from using professional movers!
They were a blessing to me! Couldn't have done this without them.
Have you found any people that could help move the heavy furniture?
Be sure to also secure doors on all items that you are moving. Sometimes we tend to forget that we need to latch, tie or tape them shut and they fly open and break off the hinges.
Sit quietly, the answers will reveal themselves when you least expect them to. The past is gone, the present is a gift and you need to focus on today, allow the future to reveal itself when it is ready.
My friend is coming on Saturday to help me move some boxes, but her back is acting up and I don't want her to get injured. I don't know who to ask for help moving. I don't need a lot of help. I need to move my curio, a couch, loveseat and chair, a dining room table, S's bed, S's dresser and bookshelf (small), D's two dressers, all my bedroom furniture and all the mattresses. I hate to ask people to do this.
