LNL - Family medicine is the modern term for general practitioner - now that there is a whole residency devoted to family medicine. We see kids, adults, geriatrics, do gynecology, orthopedics, dermatology - almost everything.
Went to meet the psychiatrist at our HMO finally today - is it a bad sign when your D rolls her eyes after coming out of his office? I guess he tried that psych trick of just sitting there quietly waiting for her to say something - she was not impressed. Then when he saw me he wanted to know right away about a hand fracture she had when she was 8 (of a type you can get from punching someone or something). I explained that her then-seven-year-old brother had karate-kicked her in the hand by accident. I swear I thought for a minute there that he was going to call child protective services on me!!!
Oh well - we need him to write the drugs and order her tests - maybe he'll grow on us.
