Tonight it's off to Voldy's place to bring in the New Year. She's cooking dinner and I'm providing dessert. I'm worn out from running around downtown with my eldest daughter yesterday. She wanted to go to Kensington Market to buy a gift for her bf and asked me to join her. Wow, three hours of walking around in the cold, taking photos and checking out the nutsiness (is that a word?) of Kensington (haven't been there in years). Sometimes you just feel so blessed when you see what the person you've raised has become! Having spent a year in residence down there she knows her way around better than i do. I noticed that when we get off buses she always thanks the bus driver as we depart through the front doors. That is so awesome! She also thanked me for paying for her pizza slice at a pizzeria she likes to go to. On Christmas she phoned me and asked the name of a charity my father used to donate to. It was a homeless shelter. Yesterday she told me that she donated money online to it. Wow, that's so sweet to remember her grandpa in that way. Small things are often the big things. Anyways, I have two amazing kids and much to be thankful for. Happy New Years everyone and may the coming year bring love and happiness to you all!
