I posted on your new thread, but wanted to say that everyone has given you some great advice and things to think about.
You cannot convince him not to leave - at least not your M - because he has really already done it, despite the fact that he is living at home. I cannot imagine how hard it is to live with your MLCer.
But do what is best for YOU. Love the fact that you demanded respect! Keep to that boundary. This situation is bad enough without experiencing disrespect in your own home.
