My son and I had a wonderful Christmas Day . He was so surprised by the gift from "my anonymous fairy godmother" which is all I'll tell him about where it came from - that he just about burst into tears. And of course I didn't see much of him for the rest of the day.
H texted S13 yesterday to say Merry Christmas, and was told about the xBox. I half-expected to get a text asking why I hadn't mentioned it to H. I'm sure I'll get an earful when I drop S13 off in a little while - he's spending the day with his dad. H is going to be told the exact same thing as S13 - that I was handed a box just as I left work on Tuesday, told to wrap it and mark it from me. If he doesn't like it, tough.
I didn't hear from H or MIL yesterday - guess I'll be saving money on a Mother's Day in the future - but I did spend several hours chatting online to friends. And those conversations were much more enjoyable than any I've had with my H in a very long time. It is so nice to have a conversation with someone who actually uses words of more than one syllable .
