Ice storm has knocked out power in my area maybe till after Christmas. My apartment has no power, no heat and no elevator. We have water in the laundry room. My girls are at their Mom's who at least has running water! I'm at the library re-charging my phone and scored a computer terminal with 28 minutes left in the booking. On the plus side, I'm getting some great post storm photos! I may not have a chance to wish you all a Merry Christmas so I'll take this opportunity to do so now. Now, off to use the library washroom...it flushes!!! Bye for now.
Yikes, Wii! That sounds horrid! I hope that worst case scenario doesn't happen and that power is restored quickly. I know that upstate NY has also been hit hard. The power company there is a client of mine, and they're going crazy right now.
Take care, stay warm and have a Merry Christmas!

Wii - hope power is restored sooner rather than later! Lower Michigan was hit hard as well and I have lots of friends and family there who are without power, possibly until the 28th! It's a real mess. Merry Christmas!
I had to drive through it today from Muskoka to Niagara for a funeral. Even the service center at Wonderland was operating by generator. Only Tim's was open with a really long lineup & felt like I had to pee in the dark (I know - TMI). Th tres were all iced & so beautiful. Fortunately the roads were clear. My sister is stuck inside with no power & could not make it to the funeral. Too snowy & cold where I live for us to have the nice storm - you would need to hit the freezing mark for that & were well below!
Christmas will be interesting for you. I'd invite you up but with 17 sleeping over at my house - I don't think you'd find a place. Hope you can make the most of it. Be warm!
Turns out my sister & family, who live near Guelph are also without power since Sun. So, although I'm not home (in NIagara for a funeral) - they are headed to my home for an early holiday. Oh well - the more the merrier!
Barb, I've never seen anything like this before...not even Rob Ford could upstage it lol. I've got over 600 photos though My power went on in the middle of the night, nice to have a shower again!
Merry Christmas Wii! I'm so glad for that. Otherwise I'd offer you my couch. We can always make another space at the table! I just drove through horrible snow & ice in Niagara/Hamilton. Left at 7:45 and just arrived at 2 pm!!! Picked up more food & was in line with others who were early hosts. More food, more wine. We are good. Josh left here & drove to check his Toronto house. He does have power but gutter was broken off house. He is heading back up now. Glad for some extra purchased items to put in guest's stockings & a board game for the family. Just added another leaf to the table. & the online ordered gifts finally got here. So I'm good!
Tonight was dinner out with the kids and Voldy and then we went back to Voldy's and decorated the Christmas tree. Initially voldy was being a bitch with the kids. She's a manager in our public housing program and the recent ice storm has created a lot of work for her. She's tired and when Voldy is tired everyone pays! After listening to her bitch at the kids for ten minutes when I arrived I bluntly said "can we end the bickering now? I've been here ten minutes and all I've heard is arguing!" So she cooled her jets and we had a nice dinner at Boston Pizza and spent time decorating the tree. Tomorrow is present opening at Voldy's and then we'll all head over to my Mom's for Christmas dinner. Voldy has to work in the afternoon checking on seniors etc so she'll meet us there. In Toronto there are 40,000 customers still without power and it's minus 18 degrees tonight. OMG. Anyway, Merry Christmas everyone!
