I'm with you Betsey. When I'm sick I want to be hunkered down in bed by myself deep under the covers.

Packages are wrapped, except for a small one for S18's girlfriend. I am now making applesauce and creme puffs from scratch. Pizza is here and we are waiting on 2 of S21's friends and then we eat.

The applesauce and creme puffs are for tomorrow when my parents and aunt come over. We are doing America theme year with brisket. So after tonight I will just get to do some clean up and we will be good for tomorrow.

Merry Christmas everyone!

I just woke up to a case of vertigo! I had the hardest time going from my bed to the stairs. Luckily made it to the couch without falling. I have inner ear issues due to my flight attendant days and I get dizzy once in a while.

Never had it quite like this before. Any suggestions to stop the world from tilting when I stand up would be appreciated.

I did lay down for a bit. Slowly got up. Didn't feel the world spinning but I didn't feel really sure on my feet. I let Cooper out back and sat on the deck. I saw the neighbor had his chickens out ( still don't think they should be allowed in the city) and got worried that Cooper might try to chase them so I gothim back in the house. I am back on the couch. Don't worry I am not driving anywhere.

Hope it gets better soon Kat. My mother had the same thing happen to her about 6 weeks ago. She was headed out to get the mail and basically ended up on the ground and could not get up do to the vertigo. A neighbor just happened to walk by and saw her laying on the ground and helped her back into the house. She ended up going to the hospital but they could not really find anything wrong with her other than her blood pressure was really low. Luckily she hasn't had another episode since.

Kat-sorry to hear about the vertigo..didn't know you've been having that. My supervisor had chronic vertigo after a car accident a couple years ago, and she had vestibular therapy for vertigo with a physical therapist; she did for a couple of weeks or months (short=term) and she hasn't had any vertigo problems since..don't know if your insurance would cover that or not though...Hope you are feeling better! Look up the Epley maneuver on youtube - it is very useful for Benign Positional Vertigo.

I will look that up. Karen, I have had a few " my body is spinning around my head spells" and I suppose this might be my third episode of vertigo. Good thing I am taking vacation now.

I have been taking it easy. I figure I will need to run some errands tomorrow but I can nab S21 if I need to. Otherwise Christmas was lovely. Hoping for a lovely new year.

Hey Kat,

Hope you are doing better soon. This happened to me 2 years ago after flying home from Hawaii. I think it was a combination of jet lag with water in my ears & exhaustion (those red eyes heading East are killers). I ended up in the ER - had some scary symptoms. I think this calls for a couple of days on the couch - watching movies & reading books! Have this kids bring you hot tea and cookies!

YUCK! I've had benign positional vertigo. NO FUN! The immediate effects of the Epley maneuver are a little unnerving but it works.

Hope you are feeling better VERY soon!
