LOL both of you. Yep, it's toys out of the pram time. I'll just do the same thing I used to on the very rare occasions that my son threw a temper tantrum - turn my back and let him get on with it.

When I asked my son what he wanted to do for his birthday, his response was "hang with you, and the two of us go for dinner". It sounds like he's not fussed one way or the other whether his dad is around for the day or not.
