Barb,

You are definitely in my thoughts and prayers right now. The D and C words are both life altering discussions singularly, and I can't imagine how you feel hearing both of them together. The D word requires lifestyle modifications that are significant to manage properly, but have a far more predictable outcome when you make those changes. I pray that you get relief and peace of mind. You definitely need a big break.

My D16 is prediabetic - it's not as bad a Dx as the D, but we've had to go ahead and make those lifestyle and dietary changes now to keep her from heading down that path. So far, it's been very successful.

Let me know when you get your FitBit! smile I'll jump back on the wagon with you. I've really slacked off this month because Mr. Wonderful has been in DC since 12/4 and doesn't get back until Friday. I try to walk at lunchtime, but that was a no go when it was 0 degrees and icy outside. Just not happening. I really miss it. Since we're going to be in the 60s today, I'm hoping to get out for a little walk today. I'll be your FitBit buddy...

BA-I'm nothing short of stunned by your texting adventures. Holy mother cow of the pasture. How on earth are you even navigating that much texting??? That makes my head swim. I'd short circuit and shove my head in the sand! I can barely function with steady texts to my D19 and anyone else! Thank goodness she's coming home tonight so I don't have to text anymore with her for awhile!

I don't even have the bandwidth to deal with my own stuff right now. This extended business trip that has me being #1 parent 24/7 is really wearing me down. To add to the fun, I'm having a colonoscopy on Thursday. I don't know how everything got condensed into one crappy week. Pun intended. I haven't even gone Christmas shopping yet. Having a date with the toilet isn't going to help my cause, so this weekend I'm having to forego a party I relish to get that jump started. Kinda stinks, but you gotta roll with it.

All I can say is bring it on. D16 is really out of sorts - probably a combination of missing her dad as well as needing that break from school that arrives Friday afternoon; and Mr. W. has been extremely crabby too. I almost called him out on it Sunday, when we were discussing weekend plans for the girls. He's not normally a dick, so it's pretty unpleasant when he IS one. I decided not to go there, as he was at my parents' house yesterday since he had the day off (doing laundry, playing cribbage with my dad and then taking them out to dinner). He told my mom that working 12 hour days since 12/4 with 2 days off is wearing him out and he's just pissy. Hopefully, he gets back to being a human being when he gets home and sees D19 again. Next person who gets to act pissy is me - it's my turn for sure.

Barb, keep positive. We're here for you...

Betsey
