This is the sort of thing that really hurts. I was chatting to my MIL on the phone and no 2x4s needed either because we don't talk about the sitch. Anyway she was talking about Christmas and asked what I wanted. I said I didn't know but does she want to know what my son wants. She said oh no that's ok I'm already sorting it out with My H - Major Flaw that is smile She's going to send my son's card and present to his house to open on Boxing Day. She was all like - Oh it'll make his Christmas last longer, all flighty and happy. I am not happy about this, it really hurts. It might not make sense to you all why it's hurting, it just is.

Sorry abouy the Christmas thing. I can understand how that could hurt. frown

On a brighter note - men do love to walk through tthe hardware store. I often do it just to relax - of course I start wanting new tools or thinking too much about unfinished - or not started - projects!

Just last week I was waiting for W to get haircut, and I walked over to the hardware store and prowled every aisle! smile

It does make sense TTd. frown It's hard to discuss even the things we used to think were so easy and simple and made life happier. Now they are constant reminders of not being together as a family.

I'm sorry it hurts. I find myself getting hurt by the smallest family things because of that very thing.

Open a bottle of fun...I did! I'm waiting for you!!! laugh

Oh, and p.s. that MH person can come along too wink

"It might not make sense to you all why it's hurting, it just is."

It makes perfect sense TTD that you would hurt from this. PM is spot on about how the smallest family things hurt when the family is no longer together. Maybe if you look at your MIL as the mother of your H who gave him life, who raised him for years. It's a blood is thicker than water thing TTD. This is no reflection on you...

It's difficult to accept but family members most always take side's in any break up. It's completely normal for a mother to stand with her son as yours as stands by you. DO NOT feel bad by what your MIL is doing. She is only doing what she feels and although it feels personal to you, it's really not, it's blood.

You know my sitch pretty well. You know my W's son is helping her. Why, because that is his mother and he loves her. You know you are a good person. Your MIL loves just in a different way than her own flesh and blood....This is how I am working through the "family" issue's.

Word for the day "chill" and get that bottle of fun open...lol

Yaay, paartay.....beats shovelling snow - and it's coming down thick and fast here. The weather forecasters actually got it right this time.

TTD, hope you're feeling better today. The others are right - your MIL is doing what she feels is right. At least your MIL is doing something for her grandson - mine probably won't even send a card.

I am feeling better thanks smile Just spent all day at a Church activity day, so I was kept very busy smile My son had a table as well and he was doing crafts with the kids as well smile Went out at lunchtime and ordered the turkey! Yeah! One less job to do now smile
I'm going to need a large spritzer later, lol.
Oh and the decorator phoned this morning, lol. He wants me to put an advert in our Church magazine and was ringing up to check everything was ok. It's hard getting him off the phone as well! He lives in the black country and I can't understand half the time, lol. He was prattling on this morning and I was just saying "yea, yes" lol. I know I keep going on about this but I really don't like him flirting with me! Let's hope he keeps quiet now until after Christmas smile

Sounds like a good day. And even undesired flirting is good for the ego. The one good thing about this time of year is that there is just so much to do. Never thought I would appreciate the hustle and bustle.
