Something just feels off here. Not that he should grovel, but that comment just came off a bit like fishing.

As if he wanted RH to build his ego, and tell him how awesome he is for coming back.

It still sounds like a juvenile mad that comment , not a emotionally stable adult. He still sounds "young" to me.
