Ruby, good job calling him on his decisions. I need to read that post again to see if I can learn how to do it in my life. Not that H is in contact with me like yours is, but I need to have a cool head and clear thinking in case he wants to offer some help with anything (like he wanted to do last year, saying that he would be glad to come to the house and do some work once in a while. Not that it actually happened.)

Mine used "Life is too short" or "It is what it is"
I felt like screaming "Shut up already!!"

Oh, this is exactly what my H used to say and I’m sure still does. This is why he needs to start the next phase of his life “after me”.
