Bright, Things happen for a reason and I do think the man upstairs didn't want you to travel to your vacation home on Thanksgiving, i.e., phone died. I'm glad you opted to stay and spend the day w/your family.
Mexico will be there tomorrow or even next week. Go when the travelers have all gone home from this holiday weekend and you are not in a traffic jam.
