That is the way you percieve it. Perception is not alwsys reality.

So an interesting few days. Wednesday W and I exchanged a few emails. One email she sent came across stronger than she intended. Without my saying anything, she apologized because she did not intend to sound insulting. Thursday, we exchange a few more emails and she volunteers that she never really told me how she felt about things.

Today, she asks if she can stop by to "see the cat," unless I'm not home because I have a life. I told her she could stop by after I ran some errands. She said I don't need to accommodate her since she is the one imposing. We worked it out and she visited. After settling in and petting the cat for a few minutes, she states, "The cat wants her to come home." It was completely unexpected. Without missing a beat, I said, "The cat isn't the only one." She didn't respond to that. She talked for more than hour and almost none of it was about work, a first. Nothing about our R of course.

Breaks in the fog?

For months, she has stopped by the house to "see the cat." No one believes she is stopping by to just see the cat. I think it is just easier for her than to admit she would like to see me. Most visits she just vents about work.

so this made me think of the poem Fog:

The fog comes
on little cat feet.

It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on
