lol MH, do you not have crackers over in the states or did you think I was being rude? lol. Typical bloke, one track mind I meant a Christmas cracker, oops I hope H didn't think I meant anything else, lol.

I'm pretty sure they have crackers in the US. We have them here in Canada and there's not much we've got that they don't have - other than Timmy's of course LOL .

lol I think MH was just being funny and a typical bloke H rang again tonight, 2 phone calls in one day - what a privilege! lol. Anyway he forgot that he's got a first aid course on monday and tuesday and what time did I drop my son off at the library on monday morning? Do you think he's bored? lol. I certainly wasn't, I was eating my dinner and watching the new season of BBT. Even my son tutted when he rang, lol.

Of course he was - don't all men have that same track mind? All the ones I know do - and that is even starting to apply to my teenage son (pubescent male, aaaargh ). We were watching something on TV the other night and the Victoria's Secret ad came on. Until that point my son had been lying back on the couch half-watching the ads. That one came on and he sat bolt upright and leaned towards the TV. I jokingly told him to wind his eyes back in and wipe the drool off his chin .
So why answer the phone at all? We've got a rule in our house that we don't answer during meals. If it's urgent whoever is calling will leave a message and we'll either pick it up or someone will get back to them after we're done eating, or watching the movie or whatever.

is that a 2x4 NQ? lol. I always answer the phone during mealtimes, it used to annoy my H immensely It used to always be his mum anyway, we used to say she had a secret camera in our house as whenever we sat down to eat she would ring. Maybe I should start doing a 180 on this

My H knows roughly when we eat as he knows my work hours and yet he has once or twice phoned while I'm trying to finish off the cooking or dishing it up. I have answered the phone once in a while but only if I felt it might be important. S13 will answer it if its H, but I might start telling him to leave it and we'll call back after we're done.
It's like when you're home alone and either get into the shower or go to the toilet - isn't the phone always guaranteed to ring LOL. It's almost like someone's watching and knows when it's most inconvenient for you to talk. I think my boss has one of those cameras - she has a habit of phoning just as I get up to go to the ladies or to lunch.

When I come over for the UK leg of the home organizing/cleaning/dejunking tour, I'm taking the phone away during dinner. Remember, I work for food. Not into fish, but fried is ok, and do love the chips, so we can have fish & chips. No spotted dick, though. LOL. Sorry about the stereotypes. Ever see the movie "Up and Away?" George Clooney's character says "I stereotype. It saves time." Or something like that.... LOL
I swear I had a post disappear, related to the crackers and the mind in the gutter.... Probably some confused person reading it on their thread where I accidentally posted it....
I hope you find some peace, get that advice centre squared away, and that your H mends his poor spending ways. Big job that last one - may as well wish for world peace and restoration of all marriages, too, right? What the heck - that, too! Stay focused on your schooling, have some fun with your son - and I hope your H gets the point when he has to make his way to your son's presentation.
Thanks MH for all your well wishes You always cheer me up with your humour I wish you could find your original post about mind in the gutter and crackers, lol. Ok the deal is from now on I don't answer the phone during mealtimes My life coach has written a list for me to work on with my dejunking/decorating/cleaning and has recommended a decorator to come in and finish the living room off She laughed when I called it a living room as she calls it a lounge. I said that I spend a lot of time on these forums and I've got to talk in a way that the Americans will understand, lol. There'll still be loads for you to do when you come over MH don't worry I'll hopefully have my sofa bed then as well

I didn't mean to miss you out NQ, I skipped over to the last post That's the trouble when I'm asleep and everyone else is wide awake, lol. I know it's just typical that the phone always rings when you're busy doing something. I used to take the house phone and my mobile phone up with me when I went to have a bath. The last two times I've rung my mum I've got her out of the bath, lol. I've got to be careful what time I ring either my mum or dad as they are both addicted to coronation street and my mum is even worse! She likes nearly all the soaps, lol. I get such a telling off from my dad if I ring during coronation street. I've even times it so I ring during the adverts and he still tells me off, lol.
