It brings to my mind a quote from someone who is very respected and admired around here: " You feel what you feel. There is no right or wrong."
Wanted to share a great quote with you, which I have posted beofre, but it is worth repeating.
"You are entitled to your own opinions. You are not entitled to your own facts.
TVS you are doing a great job here. My view, from being around here for far too long, LOL, is that the 'tone' of men's and women's postings is very different, and indeed discourse analysis confirms this. Ideally we need to learn other languages as adults from someone of our own sex as men and women speak differently in all cultures.
I too share your view that male posters can appear condescending - but I do not think it is intended, it is our perception. Women tend to write in a more tentative style (not universally true of course) So maybe each sex needs to be aware of this.
More controversially, I have also noticed that women sometimes respond differently to male posters. In general men play more hard ball than women!
