Yes, dementia was mentioned by the nurse a few weeks ago. There is also the possibility that the cancer has gone to her brain. The only way to know for sure is for her to get a brain scan. Mom will not agree to a scan because she says that she is "healed."
I told her that we should go to the doctor to see if she was "healed" and she says no because "I'm afraid of what he'll tell me."
It is also been suggested that we sedate her, but she won't accept that either.
See....not sure if I mentioned this earlier, but mom is a pharmacist and knows everything there is to know about drugs and needs to know everything about every medication that she is receiving. If we tell her that we are giving her something for sedation, she will refuse it. I don't want to lie to her either.
The hospice nurse is trying to convince her to go into a hospice facility, but she refuses that too.
Very very difficult.
