lol you lot eating fruit cake whilst I've been asleep Did I hear you right MH, did you say fruit cake in a tin? The mind boggles! I only like fruit cake if I make it myself or it's a good make like marks and spencers. I have mine with a bit of cheese as well, a Lancashire tradition and very tasty I may pick up one of those mini slabs this year, a good one from m&s

Sort of like a brick with bits of plastic embedded into it.
That's the perfect description for American/Canadian fruitcake, MH.

Maybe if I ever tasted a really good one, I might feel differently about fruitcake.
See MH’s description – that’s why what they pass off as fruitcake on this side of the Atlantic is best used as a doorstop.

I’m with TTD – M&S make the best. I’m going to see if any of our Brit stores do the small slabs as I certainly don’t want a big cake all to myself.

Mh, you've dtill not answered my question about fruit cake in a tin. No wonder it tastes bleah, lol. Good day today, first off my online exam got cancelled until tomorrow, yay! Wendy to see the college mentor and she's got me a few numbers to ring in regard to finding activities for my son to do during the day. My tutor has also had a word with me. She knows I'm getting stressed with the body massage because a certain student in my class keeps telling me what to do. She's going to sort it so I'm not sat near her. Had my first IC today She seems to be very good and is going to be working on my confidence and self esteem issues with my mum and my H. She says it's good that I'm going to see the women's support on Friday and they may be able to give me some practical advice as well She said she's going to do a mixture of CBT and other counselling. I told her I didn't want the counselling where they ask "and how do you feel about that?" as I find that a waste of time for me. She agreed and so she's going to do something a bit more productive with me. She says it's like climbing a ladder, you want to get to the top, but you have to do it one rung at a time. I think we're all guilty of this. Anyway the fruit cake debate continues or rather what do people think of mince pies and Christmas pudding and what do you have with them - cream or brandy butter? I prefer brandy butter with mine

Don’t like mince pies. But I’ll take Christmas pudding, as long as it’s a good one. I also prefer brandy butter. The last time I actually had proper English Christmas pudding my aunt served it with vanilla ice cream. That wasn’t too bad.
