Well done NQ on bringing up a smart polite young man I always feel proud as well when my son is polite to other people. Maybe I should enrol him in the cadets, he might learn how to be smart as well, lol.

NQ, your haircut may remind him of the past and that is not in his plan right now. Remember they always do the opposite of what we expect or what they did before.
I'm sure you look smashing!

I know Pud. The strange thing about him not wanting to be reminded of the past though is that OW bears a striking resemblance to both XW1 and an XGF of his - figure that one out

That's why I'm thinking of having foils and low lights put in my hair so I'll look totally different is your haircut the same as the one you've had in the past then NQ?

The length is the same as I wore it before getting married but the style is different. Of course I was in the police reserve then and it had to either be pulled up in a bun (too thick for that) or kept above collar length. After marriage I let H talk me into growing it long as he prefers long hair. I would always wear it pulled back into a ponytail though as I don't really like it long. It also has a natural wave and could be really unruly and very untidy if I wore it down for long. I prefer the shorter cut - easier to look after and definitely much quicker to dry (don't need to blow dry any more).
I refuse to colour it any more as my hair doesn't seem to like colour - even the expensive salon colour. Dying it makes it really brittle and it falls out a lot more as well. Also, colour doesn't last more than 2 or 3 weeks at most before it looks like it needs doing again, which makes colouring a very expensive option.

I can't think why it would remind H of you two that's all You had that haircut when you first met, but H likes it longer. Maybe that's why he doesn't like it now I've never really coloured my hair before, I used to have it bleached blonde but that was before I met H. Mind you my hair is so long at the mo that lowlights will probably be expensive!

My hair is so thick that when it was long it took two lots of colour to do it properly so it cost a fortune. And I've got a natural red in it somewhere which seems to be highlighted when I start playing with colour - it always comes out redder than intended no matter what colour I used. The way I see it is that if the likes of Jamie Lee Curtis, Dame Helen Mirren and Dame Judi Dench can go gray/white gracefully and still look good, then why can't I.
I don't know why he doesn't like it, but to be honest I don't really care either. I changed it for him once and it didn't keep him from having his MLC or from straying, so why should I keep it the length he likes. I changed it to a style that everyone says suits me better, makes me looker younger and thinner and that is far easier to take care of.
