CC, I think you will enjoy the course to teach children w/special needs. Yes, it is a very rewarding career and the children, even though they may have special needs, are beautiful, kind and loving. BTW, they also are gifted in other ways. So, I think you'll enjoy doing this.
As for your h, he'll figure it out in due time. Leave him alone to figure things out.
Sit quietly, the answers will reveal themselves when you least expect them to. The past is gone, the present is a gift and you need to focus on today, allow the future to reveal itself when it is ready.
