Had a busy day yesterday. We have a potluck and costume competion at the office every Halloween, so a couple of us were kept busy setting up before and cleaning up afterwards. Good job none of us really felt like working either as our phones and internet systems all crashed at the same time and were down for about an hour - and that was after lunch when we were supposed to be working again.

Then got home for a quick dinner before heading out to supervise my son and his 2 younger friends while they went trick or treating. What I didn't know when I volunteered to go along was that the friends had arranged for 3 other friends to also join the group - 6 boys between the ages of 5 and 13 all on a Halloween high (and that was without any treats) crazy. It was a wet, windy night but at least it wasn't cold.

And things get stranger and stranger with H. About 1/2 hour into the trick or treating I get a call from H wanting to know where we were, and we turned around to find him just behind us. Afterwards he came back to the house and helped sort through S13's treat bags. His comment was "it was a choice of putting up with P&G (the couple he's living with) or putting up with you, and you are the better option for many reasons, all good". He was there until around 11 when he left to get his bus. Before leaving he reached out for a hug - and it wasn't a one arm, buddy type hug smile. He also apologized for just showing up withour prior notice. Of course, he did have to make a b$&chy comment about my dad a couple of times during the evening, but I just let them slide. It's not worth the effort.
