TTd, don't you dare give in on selling the house!!!! (Some tough love for ya). Stick to your guns, and your rights. You're right, you don't need that stress right now!
As for your H, if he would listen, which he won't, he sounds like me. I had a truck that I loved. i bought it from my brother because he was in financial trouble. I did a lot of work to fix it up. Then I sold it to pay off debt. It barely made a dent, and before I knew it, I was still in debt and missing my teuck. Still do!
Because your H hasn't learned the lessons of why he's in debt, and learned how to handle it properly, he'd likely foolishly blow through the money from selling the house, and be back to square one.
As financial guru Dave Ramsey often says: you can't dig your way out of a hole!
