I'll have to tell my tale of an accidental encounter with Pepper Pot Soup... But thinking of it makes me heave. I think it's popular with French Canadians. I'd never seen it back home, but now I'm close enough to Ontario that it is in the stores. Somehow I managed to grow up in a state with tons of Mexican food and not ever taste menudo, so this was my first, and last, encounter with tripe.

HWA, your comment reminded me of a funny comment when I googled it, about Americans slathering it on an inch thick.... Probably because we do that with peanut butter, which is practically a staple food. I heard another funny thing - that Vegemite is proof that you can train people to eat anything if you start young enough.
