lol MH, My order would be - nutella, peanut butter (although not really a fan!) and the last two is definitely a tie. NQ, it was late when I wrote that, of course it's shrimps on the barbie, lol. I love prawn and mayonnaise sandwiches (or butties or sarnies). I don't like prawn cocktail crisps either, though my H loves them. We just have plain crisps in our house now and if H comes round then that's what he gets! Actually the last time he got lunch here, he said "ooo crisps as well!" I'm addicted to prawns, I often but the prawns in batter with sweet chilli or garlic and herb mayo. They're in the reduced party food bit because they've got a new range of party food Me and my son will sometimes have a plate of party food such as mini pizzas and sit in front of the TV watching BBT

NQ, we Aussies have never called prawns - shrimp. That was just stupid promotion of Australia in America with Paul Hogan starring. We Aussies all wondered what the heck shrimp was. Hard to keep our "ocker" language when we have so many American shows and stars.

Funny thing about that HWA is that my Tasmanian friend only ever calls them shrimp. We went to an office Christmas party one year and there was prawn cocktail on the menu and she didn't realize it was shrimp until it was served. Unless of course you don't consider Tasmanians to be Aussies LOL

Maybe it's time to discuss peanut butter, Nutella, Vegemite and Marmite.
I put them in order of yummy to disgusting - the last two might be a tie!
I'd have to switch the first two (and I'm not a big fan of PB) and the only use for the last two is as window putty or some similar hole filler.
My H used to eat Twiglets, which (for the Americans who don't know) is basically twigs (not really, but it tastes like it) covered in marmite - yuck. And I can remember my sister trying to "smuggle" a 1 lb tub of marmite back to Canada from the UK. The nitwit put it in her suitcase right next to her travel alarm clock. You can just imagine the panic caused at the airport when that went through the x-ray machine and this was long before 9-11 or any of the other major terrorist attacks. The marmite was confiscated and she got a telling off by customs.

My son loves prawns, shrimp and scampi (all pretty much the same actually). We've usually got a bag of frozen ones in the freezer that are quick thaw - he loves them in a stir fry. And we have sometimes had sausage rolls and chicken strips for dinner - not so much now I'm feeding a diabetic (he wants to eat healthier LOL)

Twiglets are another thing that H likes but I don't. He likes marmite as well but not vegemite. I've still got some marmite in the cupboard, I think it's maybe time I threw it out, lol. I've already thrown out his brown sauce and donated his soups and tinned spaghetti to the harvest festival

MLC twins yet again LOL - except this time it's pre-MLC. I've got a couple bags of pork rinds in the cupboard that H bought for himself - he knows they're there so I can't exactly throw them out. Maybe I'll hand them to him Sunday when he picks up S13. The only other food bought for him mainly is a tin of Quality Street and I think I'll keep them for myself.

OMG, pork rinds. I shudder at the memory of the time I foolishly tried them! There is a problem of global homoginization, with all the TV shows and chain restaurants. We'll all speak McLanguage someday.
HWA, I got so sick of Paul Hogan back in the day, I wished we could just ship him back. At first he was fun, but he never changed his gig, and it got old. "That's not a knife!". I liked Steve Erwin though, may he R.I.P.
I was obsessed with Australia as a teen. Had a schoolmate go over for a semester as an exchange student. I was soooooo jealous. She brought back some Vegemite, of course. Must be 'cause I was born in Florida - lots in common - bugs, snakes, even crocs, although mostly gators.
I agree - pork rinds are disgusting. That's why they're still in the cupboard LOL.
I also agree with your assessment of both Paul Hogan and Steve Erwin. Unfortunately we have the three Crocodile films in our collection and S13 does ask to watch them every now and again. I try to convince him to do that when I'm not home so I don't have to sit through them.
Australia is on our list of "want to visit" places. One of my good friends is from Tasmania - she rarely says she's from Australia, it's usually Tasmania - and goes back every couple of years for Christmas with her family depending on how many AirMiles shes collected.
