Pudmuddle, You've had a very interesting evening to say the least. Your h is a very confused person and he really does need to have some time on his own in order to realize that you and the relationship are not the problem, i.e., to realize that life isn't any different on the other side of the fence once the shine has worn off.
I have to say that you handled the conversation very well. Time will tell if he moves out. He may not do it unless you push for it...but I would go dim w/him and live your life as if he's a roommate.
Today is a new day...go about your business and look at him as a roommate.

On a totally different note, I was born in the Rocky Mountain state. Weird, huh? I lived there til I was 7 and still have family there.
Seems to be a bunch of us from there on here. I sure wish I could have gotten W to go to see MWD when we were right next door, before moving away. <sigh>
