Raine, In a way, your situation reminds me of HRM's situation w/her h. The only difference is that you have children. I find it quite funny how he complained about sleeping on the couch and when you advised him that it was his idea he really had to think about the situation. Once he realize that it was his choice and not yours, he changed his tune a bit and slept in the MBR. Love the way you handled it!
