No, D9 did not confront her dad about his friendship with Pam... nor did he address the topic with her (before or after dinner). When he was taking D6 to the bathroom in the restaurant, I quickly asked D9 about this.
She said she knew that Pam was not a potential girlfriend but that she really dislikes her anyway, and asked if I minded if she punches her in the face?
I didn't visibly react (but I had to inwardly smile at her jealousy for me) but asked her why she doesn't like Pam? She shrugged her shoulders and said, "I don't know. She irritates me and I don't like her."
I've never met her, so I couldn't comment on this.
I saw that D9 had left her dad a note by the computer last night (knowing he logs in when he arrives in the morning) that said, "Dad, happy birthday. Can I punch Pam in the face?"
Needless to say, I found it before he did and threw it away...
I had no idea she felt that way about her, but I'm going to take a guess now and say that maybe Pam is sending off vibes of being interested in Mr. W.?
I really don't want to devote any more time or energy to this discussion because if I put fuel in that tank, it's going to keep on going. I'm officially dropping out of the Mr. Wonderful-Pam saga.
Ocean journaling this morning:
He walked in on time and headed into the bathroom looking for me. I scared him because I was in the closet (I have a bit of my dad in me, and this is sort of fun to do). I pulled the morning version of Bob and said Happy Birthday!
He smiled a real smile and thanked me, when he saw D6 pop out of the covers. They had a mutual admiration minute and he walked downstairs to the computer.
I walked down and he asked me if I would proofread a letter for the golf tournament if he sent it to me at work. (I got it, and it sounds a little too selfish, so I need to reword some things for clarification...we're asking them to be a major donor and food host, and it's too "me" oriented for my liking. But then again, isn't his entire MLC life selfish?)
He then announced to me that another friend gave him the name of an RV repair shop that is close to his office. I think he's wanting to get the brakes done on the mobile homeless shelter? I said it sounded a lot better than driving it across town and he agreed.
I was lugging the recycle bins to the curb and just getting ready to leave when I saw him standing in the garage, smiling and holding my commuter coffee mug. As I got closer he said, "I know that you'd really miss this, so I brought it out to you. Have a really nice day."
I smiled back at him and thanked him for bringing it out to me--because I wouldn't have survived without it! Oh, and I told him to have a birthday kind of day today and he grinned back at me.
?????
Wow, the nice guy I married is back for a guest appearance! It's really nice to see him again. I hope Bob can help him work through this Withdrawal stage of his MLC...
So, shark and fish friends, shall we just keep swimming?
