It was during that time that I met current W and she started showing her propensity to try to alienate me from close friends and even family. Not necessarily as a scheme, but I think due to her family life not being at all close and comforting. She always seemed to want us to do much less with family and more just the two of us - even with major holidays.
That sounds so much like my H - he moved to the south of England to be as far from his family as possible. It was his idea that we move to Canada (although since the MLC fog, he insists that it was my idea to come back) again to be far away from his family. Earlier this year he told them he was never going back to England. And since we came to Canada he's always found a reason for us not to attend things with my family. His brother is the only family member he has ever admitted to missing.
