So another weekend has come and gone and I have yet to start decluttering. I knew I wouldn't do any yesterday as I was busy getting soaked with the Cadets but I did think about starting it this morning. I ended up deciding was going to be pointless starting until H's stuff has all been boxed. There isn't any room in the garage yet for any boxes as I think my dad has been listening to me tell my son that we are going to declutter. He's managed to fill three large bin bags with something and the recycling box is overflowing with cardboard as well. We can only put out two bags unless we pay the city for tags for extra bags. I'm hoping the two neighbours only put out their usual one bag each, then I can dump an extra bag on each of them and get the garage cleared.

S13 seems to be willing to help as well. He wants to go through his toys and add to the pile we already have to take to the consignment store. The sweetest thing about that is that he wants to take 5% of any money made and give me 95% as "you need it more than I do; I'd only waste it on more toys". Imagine that coming out of the mouth of a 13-year old boy. It nearly made me cry. At least I know I've done something right when I look at my son smile

H didn't show up, but he had told us earlier in the week that he didn't know if he would today. He had a security gig last night that wasn't supposed to finish until at least 2am. No texts or phone calls either, but S13 didn't seem at all bothered. The only thing he said about not seeing his dad was that he wants to see his boo-boo (the head injury from earlier in the week). I'd have been surprised if he had turned up as he gave me the child support payment on Friday "just in case" he didn't make it on Sunday, so I'd already figured he had no intention of showing up today.

Instead we had a quiet, do-nothing kind of day. We spent a bit of time on the computer watching Russell Peters (a Canadian comedian for those who don't know the name) - not exactly politically correct, but his jokes are clean so I don't worry about the fact that S13 thinks he's really funny. It was a nice little bit of bonding, especially as we sort of have to cuddle to both fit in front of the computer screen where it is located at the moment smile . The only real chores were the laundry and groceries that I couldn't do yesterday, and the mandatory haircut for S13 because it's getting long enough to have his Cadet C.O. telling him he needs one. He just wanted short back and sides, but it looked untidy and it is picture day at school tomorrow so I convinced him to go with a number 2 cut all over. Short hair really suits him as he was unlucky enough to inherit the natural wave I've got and that makes his hair start to curl if it gets too long and he looks scruffy quickly.
