Funny, just last night (or the wee hours of this morning) I was telling someone how I was looking for a new sewing kit, because W took ours, and I'm the one who did all the button repairs and stitched up repairs and such.
My mom taught all her kids to sew, even us boys. I have long since lost any skills with a machine, but I can do a fair job by hand. Of course they do have manly sewing kits, in camouflage patterns and the like. Geared for hunting/fishing/camping repairs.
Good skill to have when you split the seam up the backside of your pants at work, too. I worked with a guy who kept a little kit in his desk drawer after an accident of that nature.
Now we've done it. From movies to food to sewing... Look out JonF, things are getting crazy around here!
