No surprises there at all NQ, he's just following the WAS script isn't he? lol. About the shrimp thing, last time I actually got round to buying the shrimps, then just ate them and totally forgot to put one in the box, lol. Then H collected the box so the moment was gone. Another one is that you put the shrimp in the lining of their curtain. Not one for me or you NQ but perhaps would appeal to the male spouses who go to visit their kids

We had a credit counselling meeting this morning, which he actually turned up without complaint in spite of his adventures last night. I found out why he wasn't available last night to finish his packing.
It seems he tried to break up a fight outside the local coffee shop and got his head slammed into a brick wall for his trouble. He ended up spending over an hour giving a statement to the cops and talking to the paramedics (and refusing to go to hospital for medical treatment). He's sporting a one inch gash on the back of his head and a headache, but no serious ill effects. Could be another visit to court for him as the guy that injured him has been charged with assaulting an off-duty enforcement officer. H is a licensed security officer and witnesses told the police that he did identify himself as such before stepping in to break up the fight. He's also not going to be charged for hitting the guy as it's been deemed self-defence.
Normally I'd have been really worried and would probably have tried fussing over him, but not this morning. He says he's okay, so he must be okay. He did ask me if I thought it needed stitches, as he can't see the back of his head. I told probably but it was up to him whether he went for treatment or not. Good 180 on my part .
It's also a positive change for H as the last time he got hurt doing security, I found out from a third party about two weeks after the incident.

Well done you for your 180 in this Did you say he had an OW or are you just guessing? If so, where was she when all this was going on and why didn't he ask her if he needed stitches or not? He was obviously trying to get sympathy from you, but you weren't responding to it. Good for you

He confessed to the OW at BD. I couldn't be bothered to ask if she knew about it. I believe he usually only sees her on weekends as she lives in the next city, he doesn't drive and with his shift hours it's not convenient for her, or should that be .

Oh I see, well he obviously hasn't been on the phone to her about this or he wouldn't be talking to you about it and asking your opinion. That's what I think anyway

There's a pretty good chance he had been on the phone to her - he was texting somebody when I first met up with him. She just wasn't physically present to check the wound out so he had no choice other than either ask me to have a look or to just leave it and take his chances. Personally I think he should have listened to the cops and the paramedics last night, but that's just my opinion.
And of course, she probably isn't used to him coming home with battle wounds - LOL - and he probably doesn't want her worrying about him. I've had 16 years to get used to him getting bruises, cuts and scrapes when he's been working security, and even when he's not been actually working security - he's not afraid to get his hands dirty as it were if he can't talk them down, and he thinks nothing about stepping in whether he's on-duty or not if the situation calls for it. Unlike when I was policing, security can actually get physical with the punters and get away with it - I always had to use the gift of the gab to talk down feisty drunks or rely on the burly guy I was partnered with .

I think he should've gone to hospital as well, but like you said that's his problem

All this talk of shrimp is making me hungry. That trick reminds me of Grumpy Old Men, when one guy tosses a fish into the back of the other one's vehicle.
I think you did good in your response. Hard not to say, just snap a picture with your phone and text it to the OW for her opinion, right?
lol Milehigh @ snapping a picture on your phone I get these prawns, which aren't as big as your ones in America, and they are battered and have got sweet chilli sauce in the batter I'm addicted to them and normally have them for my dinner when my son goes to his dad's. They weren't in the shop this morning, I'm most disappointed I think our prawns are about as big as your shrimps :)I could never have anything like that when H was living with me as he hated anything like that, he would only have prawns in a seafood sauce which is thousand island dressing. Have I confused you yet? lol xx
