[Not Quitting]

Just got home from cadets with S13. Had to stop in at the local pub to let H see S13 in his uniform and show him off to some of the people we both know in there - and since I was meeting up with him to drop off his latest mail delivery.

H is having his own personal pity party tonight. He just found out today the results of MIL's bloodwork - been waiting for weeks to find out what's wrong with her - turns out she's got stage one leukemia. H is stressed now. Add to that the fact that today would have been our first son's 16th birthday.

I'd been trying not to make too much of the date but obviously H didn't succeed. He's sitting at the bar toasting our late son with shots of Jack washed down with beer. Boy, is he gonna feel it tomorrow. I did allow him to buy me one drink, then made the excuse that I had to get S13 home to bed as he's got school tomorrow and left him to it.
