Hey RL, it's not as bad as it sounds - steamed suet pudding with loads of raisins - it's heavier than sponge cake but similar texture. Great with custard. If you don't fancy that, go for something like a sticky toffee pudding instead.

Sorry to hijack MH smile

I agree lol. Actually I like my cable, where else can I get to see all these good American shows like BBT smile

I agree with TTD about keeping my cable. We can't stream many of the American shows up here for some reason and without a credit card I can't set up Netflix. I can watch most of our Canadian shows online and a few of the US ones, but not many. And we get quite a few British shows on cable as well. I rely on cable and YouTube to get those smile .

Yeah, we tried to get rid of cable once. <shudder> wink My problem is I like to have it on as background noise, and I love to fall asleep to the tube. Hard to do that with streaming. When the show stops, I wake up!

What a weekend. A bit of a rollercoaster... but at least it's more like the kiddie version.

Got a question first, then I'll write the saga of the weekend.

When we are in the car, I always drive. If it's less than 75 degrees, my wife is freezing. If it's more than 75, I'm roasting. We have the home thermostat battle, too, but let's work on the car first. The old me would have huffed, fussed, whined, dramatically opened the window for a bit.... right now, I'm just toughing it out and sweating a lot while I drive. The question is, how to find a fair compromise. In the winter, I always try to take my coat off because I know the heater will be blasting in the car, but sometimes it's too cold to do that, and it's a pain to stop for that on the road (most roads around here have nowhere safe to pull over anyway).

It seems to me a bit more important that the driver be comfortable, and easier for the passenger to make adjustments. Maybe we could keep a blanket in the car? An extra scarf? She could were gloves? If it's a short drive, I'm willing to sweat it out without complaining, but maybe we should have an agreement of sorts. Down the road, when we've tackled some bigger issues.

Anyone else have this problem?

I have that problem - except that I'm the only driver in my M and I'm always the one feeling the cold. H and I used to take it in turns switching the heat/air conditioning up or down. We could never compromise. Same thing at home - I usually ended up wearing a sweatshirt around the house.

I agree that the driver should be comfortable. After all the driver is ultimately responsible for everyone's safety and if the driver isn't comfortable they might not be fully concentrating on the driving.

me and my H are the same. When I'm just right, he's too hot. Same with the heating at home.
My H used to turn the heating up in the car and open his window. He would always drive with the window open, apart from when it's about -10f. I used to ask him to put the heating on if he had the window open as my teeth woulf be chattering, lol. I used to fold my arms and he's say why am I sitting like that and I'd say because I'm freezing! lol.

I generate a lot of heat when I'm concentrating, and we hope I'm concentrating while driving! smile I just can't stand hot, stuffy air. It's like my lungs are burning for cool air. Same goes in the house. When I'm by myself in the car, I often have the heat on to keep my feet warm, but the window down to get fresh air.

So you need to have the heating on to keep your feet warm and the window open when W is in the car as well smile I'm sure she won't mind if you've got the heating on as well smile I know I didn't.
Anyway you've still not told us about your weekend yet. Come on, spill the beans smile
