I would wait until tomorrow night and go to the restaurant with your W, unless you want the flirty waitress to think you're single wink

So, W just cancelled tonight because she didn't feel well. And I was relieved! Not like early on when I wanted to avoid here. Just because I'm kind of tired, behind on chores and cleaning, behind on tasks for work, and.... wait for it.... have too much TV to catch up on. laugh crazy grin

I think I need to cancel cable again. There's too much to do just keeping up online, and with streaming and DVDs.

I agree lol. Actually I like my cable, where else can I get to see all these good American shows like BBT smile

CP, I was meaning to drag you into my multi-cultural comparison conversations. wink

I was absolutely obsessed with Australia when I was younger. That tempered when I got older and decided I don't really like the heat, or insects that can actually kill! Never mind snakes and crocs. But then, I was born in Florida, so.... Anyway, as a lazy teen when I discovered 30 days vacation was the norm there, I was all for it! Of course now as an overworked adult I understand that's normal for the rest of the world! Lucky for me, I have that much at my job, but it took a long time to build up to it.... I worked on an account with a Belgian fellow, back during BD #1, and he told me he didn't think Americans have enough holiday time to really spend enough quality time with family or relationships or something. Can't remember exactly now, but it was poignant, and I agreed. And still do!

I would still LOVE to visit there some day. Also New Zealand. I think the Lord of the Rings movies were one long promo from the NZ board of tourism! In fact, just now, while googling to see if there was a Ministry of Tourism there, I find the official site and what's on the home page - huge picture of Bilbo/Frodo's Hobbit hole. Sorry, if you aren't into hobbits....

Anyway, I remembered all this because I was on YouTube - thanks NQ... wink - and saw a funny bit by a young girl just back to Australia from a school exchange program in the USA.

It was called "Things Americans Don't Get!" if you want to look for it and have a laugh. Of course that turns up tons of other hits.... the one I saw was by heykaitlyn29. Funny stuff.

I watched a vid a couple years ago of all the kids from Harry Potter doing American accents. That was a hoot.

Hey DMR! Nice to hear things are going swimmingly (how's that one smile ) for you and your F-W. I have sort of a F-H, except for once when he called me "sis" but it beats being cold as ice. I agree with TTD180 about the other F-W in your life, the flirty waitress. Going there tonight alone and then again tomorrow with your W could cause any number of complications. Or....it could make your W jealous, but I'm not sure if you want that. It helps some sitches I think. I'm jealous as hell of the RT right now, that's for sure!

So I should start learning to say "brilliant" and eat "spotted dick" when I'm on my trip? Yikes. Not sure I"m up to the second!

Yeah, I was only kidding about taking her there. And about going tonight. It does feel good to get flirted with. And even fooling myself into thinking it was about more than the tip! laugh

Brilliant! I guess you could say "fabulous, darling!" but maybe that would just peg you as an Ab Fab fan?! LOL

I'm sure it's a delightful, raisin filled treat! Not a huge fan of raisins in my food, but I do like a good bread pudding. Now I'm hungry....

Roselinda, you just need to be yourself and don't stress about how you come across when you're over here smile We all know you Americans think everything is awesome anyway, lol. Just getting my own back wink Saying brilliant in an American accent will just sound wrong, lol. Only kidding yet again smile
Are you off to the capital RL? Looking forward to hearing all about your trip and giving you tips smile

MH, yes it is good to be flirted it, but it also depends who it is. There has been a delivery driver recently who thinks he's someone. He always calls me flower and if I ask how he is he says "all the better for seeing you!". I make a gagging noise everytime, lol.
They've changed delivery drivers and this one is much more polite, I hope they keep this one instead of the creep. This one calls me Mrs ___ and still passes the time of day but not creepy with it smile

I WILL think everything is awesome, TTD180! I am going to visit a friend (female, like my H, who also only visits females frown ) We will be in London for 3 days, and in the Isle of Wight the rest of the time. Tips are welcome! Thanks!

I've visited the IOW a few times and used to live near london smile In fact I used to work in London, 3 hour round trip each day commuting!
I'm sure your friend will be able to take you to the best places to go in London. I love Covent Garden with all the little novelty shops there and the street entertainment. There's also a club there that you go downstairs to get to and they play alternative music such as punk or heavy metal smile
I love the shops in London, but I often got lost in Harrods, lol. I could never find the exit, seriously! lol. The food hall in Harrods is a must as well and Hamleys the toy store. I think I might have to go for a weekend now, lol.
