I always loved helping my boys with purchasing things. I would see how much effort they put into saving for something, many weeks or months. Then when the time came to buy it, I would usually add some money for them to upgrade to a better option, or add money so they could purchase extra things. It was never expected from the boys, but they just so loved having that extra help.
