Ruby, I do get what you mean by living in the present, but also I am not placing a huge amount of expectations when and if I get the transfer back to the city.
I need the transfer back to the city, for me.
I cannot continue to stay here in the country, without being affected by the sitch. It really is as simple as that.
For me to grow, improve and become a better person, I need to get out of here.
I don't have expectations and am not even stressing on the wait for it. I just have to admit, I will not be good with the wrong outcome.

That’s understandable due to the expectations you have of city and country!

I will keep my fingers crossed for you day and night!

Why is it, that your bike isn’t with you?
Is it three years now?
Is it costly flying to the city – I have no idea of the distance and prizing
How big is this small town you live in right now?
What kind of activities can you do there? (try being specific – movies, diners, MC-club, poolhouse – something must be there or ?

I would like for you to try giving me a more detailed picture of the place you live right now

Not against the country, just simply not the best for my sitch, where the city will be better.

[iFirstly, the distance to ride it up here, then the roads, they are not quality roads. I have a sportsbike, likes going around corners etc. We have straight roads for 200kms. Also no motorbike clubs, I have checked.

Yes, it is.

The town is predominantly a mining town with some farmers. About 23,00 people, but a lot of those people are fly in and fly out workers. Flights sometimes can be cheap, but still too much to do on a regular basis. Most flights are booked out on the weekend with the miners flying back home.

What kind of activities can you do there? (try being specific – movies, diners, MC-club, poolhouse – something must be there or ?
Lots of pubs, some restaurants and a small cinema. The big entertainment is the local footie game and going to the dam. Withe regards to activities to do, I check the local paper each week, I check the lcal shopping centre bulletin board. I haven't come across much in the way of clubs or local activities, unless you are a mother with kids at school.

I would like for you to try giving me a more detailed picture of the place you live right now

Emerald?????? According to wikipedia

Emerald is a town located in the Central Highlands Region, Queensland, Australia. At the 2006 census, Emerald had a population of 12,895.
Emerald lies on the Nogoa River, a tributary of the Fitzroy River. The town lies almost 300 kilometres from the coast and approximately 270 kilometres west of the city of Rockhampton on the junction of the Capricorn and Gregory highways. The Tropic of Capricorn intersects the Gregory Highway just north of Emerald.
Fairbairn Dam overflowed for the first time in 17 years on the 19 January 2008. Major flooding in Emerald occurred a few days after as the Nogoa River broke its banks. The floods, resulted in 1,000 houses being affected and more than 2,500 people being evacuated. The 2008 floods did not reach the heights of flooding in previous years.

Sorry hit the submit button.

Basically F, the next biggest town is 300kms away. A lot of locals actually travel that far to get Hungry Jacks. Brisbane, my home is around 900kms away, an 11 hour trip.
We have quite a lot of large mines within 200km of Emerald. A lot of the population are miners, whether fly in/fly out type or ones who live here.
There is quite a big difference between the people with regards to wages: miners are on big money (6 figures, work truck, and rental assistance), while original locals who work outside of mines are on standard wages, average 30k to 60k a year.

Hope that helps you.

I've only recently been reading your sitch HWA. I know very little about it but I feel that if you don't get transferred to the city you will be devastated!

The transfer is the answer right now. I would agree that it would be the best thing for you but have you thought about it not happening and what you might think of doing instead?

I don't believe you are stressing on the wait but I do find it hard to believe that you have no expectations for it. When I read your comments I can practically hear the expectations screaming!

If HR called you up today and said it wasn't happening, what would you do?

I agree T, this is my concern as well smile If you couldn't transfer to the city, what about transferring to another town where there is more to do? I live in a small town, but travel to the other towns quite regularly as there's nothing to do here either.
I normally travel to places by bus, depending where I go it can be up to 45 mins travel. The cathedral city near to us has always go things on to do smile You can spend a full day there with very little money. They've got an event next week to learn more about the history of the city and the cathedral for free with just the bus fare to pay smile

I hope you do get the transfer that you desire smile In the mean time google "what locals do in emerald qld" and there comes up with a list of different events happening. There seems to be quite a lot going on but I may be wrong smile It's just my 2cents worth, don't shoot me down in flames smile
