Decluttering reminds me - can't remember who mentioned flylady. I actually know about her, and a member of the forum on that site, but haven't been there in years. I may have been the only man in the whole user list. blush I have used her speed cleaning idea, too. In fact, sometimes at work I set a 30 min or 1 hr timer and start a task. Really motivates me to not check email, work on stuff based on my preference instead of real priority, or check on DB forum. LOL.

I like to read a lot of posts/blogs/etc. about decluttering/minimalism/simplifications/organization, etc.

For me it all started with a book by Don Aslett called Lose 200 Lbs This Weekend: It's Time to Declutter Your Life. The pounds he's referring to are pounds of junk!

I consider myself a recovering packrat. crazy If I had time, I'd detail my adventer (?) clearing out the leftover junk from this place I'm living in. Never buy a house from hoarders!

Cleaning can be a good way to keep busy and out of trouble, but there are limits! laugh

Speaking of lbs. Since I live in the US, I can pick on us for being the only place on the planet not to embrace the metric system. blush I remember a very brief, lame attempt to teach it when I was in grade school. We got meter sticks to replace yard sticks and that was about it. I notice when watching Holmes on Holmes or other Canadian DIY shows they usually refer to feet and inches - but that might just be a trade practice, or pandering to the US audience. I know habits die hard in different industries. But I have a few Canadian co-workers and they all seem to be able to switch back and forth ok. I have to stop and think hard if given a temperature in Celsius (or hit Google!). But I really love how the British folks are officially metric yet give their weight in stones all the time! smile
