I didn't even get a card from my H for my b/day! I sent him a card and he even expected me to buy him a cake (I didn't!) He conveniently forgot it was my birthday. I didn't comment that he'd forgotton my card. He just kept commenting on how I'd got a cake and he didn't get one on his birthday. Awwwww diddums! He can be such a child at times, maybe this MLC means you have to act like one as well, lol.

Just thought I'd put a Brit term in here to see if anyone responded to it smile

Got a "Thank you for the flowers," via Skype. Good enough. smile

She actually called me yesterday. She was trying to see if I wanted to go to the new bookstore in town, but wanted to go before dark, and I hadn't answered her texts. Somewhere back in my posts I've written about how terrible we've always been with talking on the phone. I don't know why, because I can talk for hours to friends and family, but with us it's always awkward. I think it's her shyness - why she's always been that way on the phone, even with me, I don't know. Anyway, I called her back and we chatted for just a few minutes, but it went very well.

She was very appreciative of my efforts with the cable company, too. She was very stressed about trying to set it up and arrange the time off. She works in a busy law office and they are not very flexible.

Good news all round MH smile Not much else to add to that smile
Oh yes I'll tell you waht we're talking about on FB at the mo. Have you ever seen worzel gummidge? Another british classic smile Go and watch the videos on youtube if you've got seen it smile Jon pertwee plays the lead, he was also one of the doctors on doctor who (another good British prog).
Just watched an episode of BBT. It was when Sheldon has to give up his pizza night to go to Raj's flat. Reminds me of my son when you tell him there's been a change of routine, he's not happy! At the moment my son keeps going on about what he is going to do on Wednesday as so far nothing's been arranged for him. I tried to get H to have him for a couple of hours, but it was like trying to get blood out of a stone! I wanted to say to H, why all the cloak and dagger stuff, just tell me if you're busy or not! it' not hard is it? lol.

Yeah, things are heating up around here. If we keep up this pace, I may get a hug by Christmas! smile Just kidding. Not trying to rush anything. Better to go slow and get it right.

I have not seen worzel gummidge. I will have to check that out. Sounds like an affliction. LOL. Speaking of such.... Was just reading a funny review from someone who tried canned Spotted Dick. He came up with an American English name for it that I can't repeat here! whistle

That's great news MH.

Not all of us like talking on the phone. I know I dont' - I'd rather talk face to face or if it's work related I'll often send an email rather than make that phone call.

Keep up with what you're doing. Obviously it's working.

I hope you do get a hug by Christmas smile That would be the best present ever!
Spotted dick in a tin? I've never seen that over here! I've seen other sponges in a tin over here, but never that one.

Think it's Heinz. We can get them here in British specialty shops, along with chocolates, crisps, jams, etc, etc. Things cost a fortune but I do like to splurge a bit once in a while and have a treat.

I'll bet you can find it on Amazon. That's where I get my fix for Bounty candy bars. Used to get them in Anchorage, AK. Then I saw them again in Toronto last year. Can't find them in stores here. I like them because I can have milk chocolate with the almonds, whereas with Almond Joy/Mounds I have to have dark chocolate with almonds. Who are they to determine my chocolate/almond combinations?! frown

Yeah, I'm picky. crazy
