lol Mile high, glad you're feeling better It always helps to post your woes on here as someone on here will give you the kick up the bottom that you need, lol. I like the DIY shows as well, but they are only pipe dreams I'm afraid

I'm always looking for the Like button.... Well, with my estate and summer home (LOL - trailer house and tired old cottage) I have to give all my spare funds for property and school taxes after Visa/Mastercard get there cut. :-/
Was a little down today after paying the bills. All the aches and pains seemed to gang up at once the last few days. And, I was feeling overwhelmed about all the many hundreds of chores I can't get to - especially the unfinished projects that need to be done before the weather turns.
But.... I rallied what positive thoughts I could and got the lawn mowed, the dishes done, and had a nap to catch up from the last two days of very little sleep, which probably lead to a lot of my pain and sullenness.
But the battle with Walmart customer service, a lost receipt and a large TV in a tiny car didn't help either, or many hours trying to help a friend through a personal crisis.
On the upside, it's all training for the new, better, more positive me! Have to win the battles to win the campaigns to win the war, right?! :-)

This is a positive as well You are getting rid of procrastination by doing these things Now will you come and do some things for me? lol. I find a list helps, things that you've been putting off. Write 5 things on a piece of paper, mark them in order of priority and cross them off as you do them! You'll be amazed at the positive impact that it has on your emotional well being

Rather you than me I'm so unfit it's untrue! I'm so tired at the mo, even exercise is making me feel tired My son's asked me to join him at the x-bikes class next Tuesday, lol. He hit me with a 2x4 when I said I was too old, lol. He said MUM! You should start getting out more! Wow! is this my son telling me these things! He's got a point though, lol.

I will go check it out. Helping others is one of my goals and GAL activities. I must keep it up. I'll stop on over there when I get back on here after work....
My W and I love to watch shows from the UK. We used to love BBC America before it turned into just another outlet for modern reality shows. Mostly we like mysteries and cop shows - or Police Procedurals. :-)
I was watching some old comedies on DVD and someone called somebody a "plonker." Can I use that, or would I just sound like someone's grand-dad? :-D
There, since I mentioned the W, this is still a DB related topic. LOL.
lol I think calling someone a plonker would sound like someone's grandad I take it you're watching "only fools and Horses"? Classic TV! Nowadays we use the term "muppet" instead of "plonker". Thanks for offering to drop by my thread and give me some advice It's funny how you like the British TV as I like a lot of the American TV. Trouble is when I mention I've been watching such and such a programme, all the Americans through their arms up in the air and say "oh you don't watch that rubbish do u!", lol. At the moment I'm watching reruns of "Big Bang Theory". It really cheers me up The British X factor is on on Saturdays at the mo, so me and my son have been settling down in front of the TV to watch this. I saw a programme a couple of months back called "touch", have you seen that one? Also a couple of years or so ago the British got into "Lost" and we even had a podcast afterwards to discuss it. I'm just trying to remember that DIY programme that we get. It's when they knock down the house and rebuild it or make drastic changes. This makes a nice change talking about TV instead of our sitches doesn't it? lol

Yes!! It was "Only Fools and Horses." Just discovered that one. I guess plonker's not that common then. He must use it a lot, or you really know your TV! There was another insult, but I can't remember it. I like to use the classic "git" on occasion.
Someday, maybe I'll understand the use of "i'n'it." (Spelling phonetically).
Haven't seen Touch. When we first got BBCA back in the day, I watched a lot of "Ground Force" and "Changing Rooms" which got turned into "Trading Spaces" over here I guess.
I love "This Old House." That's the classic here. While I still have cable (LOL) I have two networks devoted to DIY shows - there are so many!
Talking about TV shows (programmes, to you - programs to me... LOL) is just fine - it's part of my GAL. Of course, too much of a good thing.... :-/
You familiar with RosaLinda? She's heading to the UK - England, I think, really soon.
I'd like to do some GAL travelling myself. I was in the UK in '83, when I was 17 and full of... well, energy! I was probably pretty stereotypical and hope I didn't affirm too many bad opinions of American tourists. OK, I don't think I was that bad.
Delboy uses plonker a lot, lol. I think that's the only person I know who uses plonker as much as he did. My H likes only fools and horses, which is why I know so much as the programme. Innit is the work I think you're after. It's short for isn't it or is not it. Does that make sense in the way it was said? It's great that Roselinda is heading over here soon Tell her not to pack any shorts or t-shirts, lol. A good raincoat is in order! We had loads of rain here today! lol I don't think we've got a bad impression of American tourists. I don't live near the tourists spots so I don't get to meet a lot of Americans. My cousin in law is American so I keep in touch with what's in over there. When my English cousins go out to the States, they always say that you can tell us Brits as they're the ones that look like lobsters, lol. I know that we always say that the Chinese take loads of photos and if you're in the capital, you can tell who's a Chinese tourist, lol. No offence to anyone from China on here

Here's one for you (hint, same actor is involved) "Granville! Fetch yer cloth!" ;-)
What cracks me up about innit, is how it's said completely out of context. Like "He's stupid, innit?!" But, then, I always hear it on over-the-top stereotypical comedies.
So, to get myself back on the DB subject here... I finally got the basket mounted on my bike and pedaled myself down to the store for some provisions. And it was cold! Yesterday, too. I even put on long sleeves. If the evening temps stay like this it's time for long pants, too.
I failed in my mission to get a car before my Pain/Stress Management (mindfulness, meditation and such) class starts - that's Tuesday already. What I may do is take a week off and really focus on that task. I still have 3 wks vacation to burn through this year, and it's no easy feat getting it scheduled around on-call and other people's schedules (and they all seem better at planning ahead than me).
