Patience my friend. It will come. I have been doing 3 15 minute walks a day, substituting tea or water for a soda and eating smaller portions. 2 lbs in one week, slowly but surely.
We got this.

It kills me that I work myself to the point of total exhaustion and eat totally clean, low-carb and haven't lost ONE SINGLE POUND! I'm royally peeved about it.
Make sure your thyroid is COMPLETELY normal. Even being a little bit off can result in this kind of problem. Most doctors only check TSH, but some people can have thyroid problems even with a "normal" TSH. Check out the stopthethyroidmadness website for more info.
Other things that can cause a super-low metabolism: - iron deficiency (or anemia of any kind) - Cushing's syndrome (very rare - abnormal excess cortisol) - estrogen dominance (too much estrogen relative to too little progesterone) - toxicity (pesticides, mercury, pthalates, etc) - prescription drugs (anti-histamines, beta-blockers) - pre-diabetes/insulin resistance (although a low-carb diet is often the solution to this) - food allergies/sensitivities (if you're already low carb, try going completely gluten-free - this helps a lot of people)
I can't have any testing done since I don't have insurance so the frustration and trial and error will continue.
Thanks for the suggestions kml and I'll look into each possibility the best I can on my own.
Question, when you say anti-histamines, would that include Claritin? I take it daily for some pretty severe allergies but if that could be stopping me from losing anything I'm willing to suffer through the sneezing for a while to check it out.

Hi Mishka, I too am on a dreaded diet. I found the most shocking thing is to keep a food diary for a few days and write down what you actually eat. What I thought were occasional treats were actually much more regular.
I know losing weight is so hard, the only time I did it with ease and had a great figure was post bomb- yuck!
I use My Fitness Pal online and an the app on my phone to track EVERYTHING. It's definitely an eye opener sometimes. I follow Chris Powell's carb cycling plan which is AWESOME because I'm not ever hungry and I eat nothing but whole, clean foods. It's been a little boring but I've finally found better ways to season some things that make them taste more like I'm used to. Gotta love Mrs. Dash! Salt free seasoning mixes already in a bottle so I don't have to always do it myself.
I pack all of my lunches for the week on Saturday afternoon as soon as I come back from the market as well as trimming and prepping all the chicken for the week. It really does simplify everything. It just drives me crazy that I've been working so hard for weeks and gotten nowhere as far as weight or inches. I can say though, I feel fabulous when I'm not aching everywhere. LOL

Yes, Claritin is an antihistamine. If you take it daily, it may be contributing to your weight gain.
Try checking your basal temperature and resting pulse first thing in the morning before you get out of bed. If your temperature is 98.0 or better, it's probably not your thryoid. If your temp is low, it MIGHT be your thyroid - or any number of other things. But a nice normal morning temp pretty much rules out hypothyroidism.
