A banner day today. I was reinstated as a Skype contact. I'm now Skype-worthy. ;-)

Still getting the daily texts. I was starting to wonder if she was just checking every morning to see if I'm alive and didn't have a low blood sugar incident in the night. It's always just friendly banter about TV shows, cats, etc. It's just funny, it's like clockwork. Today I was thinking maybe that had burned out because it was after 8:00 am... but, right at 9:00, there it was.

Readin MWD's "Change Your Life...." Love it, and I'm only in the introduction. It's really making me think that my next appointment with my IC may be my last, if we are still going to dwell on my upbringing. Getting tired of putting the blame on my Dad for my current problems.

Then tell your IC that you want to discuss healing from the stuff about your dad. You will definitely need guidance for that.

I think I want to leave my dad out of it entirely. It's time to be solution oriented and that doesn't require any further delving into the past. There weren't any surprises there anyway.

If that's what you mean by "healing from..." - moving forward, and dealing with current behavior without regard to the past, then yep, I agree.

I think MWD is overly enthusiastic in "Change Your Life..." about how easy it is to change deeply ingrained habits, but I do think SBT and behavioral type of therapy is the way to go.

I think shrinks and counselors do more damage rummaging around in the past and trying to force emotions and breakthroughs than they ever do any good.

I keep having images of Frazier and Niles Crane arguing over technique... or even better, Frazier and Lilith. Funny, I just watched an ep of that show. Hadn't seen it in years. :-/

W wants to go check out new independent book store that opened near us, so she's going to bring the cat over tonight, and maybe stop by the grocery store.

We're either going to a movie Sat or watching a show on TV we were discussing this morning.

Somewhere in there was supposed to be dinner at a local restaurant, too, but it may have gotten lost in the shuffle.

So, added back as a Skype contact, and consistent morning texts, and randomly at other times, and more activities and time together.

Good baby steps for further DBing. Now, have to get some more work done, shower, shave and all that... and do a quick clean up.

A clean house is good for the PMA. :-)

"Somewhere in there was supposed to be dinner at a local restaurant, too, but it may have gotten lost in the shuffle."

So how about choosing someplace totally different to check out? Try something different? How has the weight loss been going?

Well, my clothes tell me I'm doing good. :-) I don't seem to have a scale around here. This last week has been a setback, though, because of the back injury. Too much sitting and too much eating! I hope to be able to at least get back to walking by next week, and my other exercises the week after. I'll try to work some stretching in starting tonight.

My blood sugar has been good too. Hoping for an A1C level in the proper range for first time in a couple years.

She just texted me about going to the restaurant. Guess it wasn't forgotten. I think I'll stick to this one this time - it's convenient to the book store we're going to. But that's a good idea. Maybe shake it up next time and find someplace new.

MileHigh, you are doing fantastic at just being chill, and letting it happen. To me, it seems incredibly hard to even come to grips with your wife not being the same - and equally hard to realize that you may have to "win" her again...
