The weekend with my cousins and visiting my aunt was nice, if a little bit stressful. I manifest some of the stress myself but the rest comes from my aunt, aka - the pot stirrer!. She likes to get drama started and sit back and watch the fireworks. I knew one of the first questions she was going to ask the minute she got me in her line of sight - what is going on with you and Gabe? Are you getting re-married? That's what she always asks. I came prepared this time! smile Shut her down super fast. My response - "We are working on our relationship and taking one step at a time. Marc enjoys having both of us there and we enjoy each other's company."

Worked perfectly. She didn't ask another question about it the rest of the weekend.

There is some movement on the career front for Gabe. I hope this works out. He has given up fighting the state about his certification and has decided he has to completely change career paths. He is studying for the CDL test to get his permit. CRST trucking is needing 4 new drivers to be based here in our area and they will train once he has a CDL permit and will pay him after initial training. That will mean 2-4 weeks without any pay which is going to present a major challenge but I'm trying to work that out.

Still trying to sell some things on ebay but nothing else has been moving lately. I'm keeping on top of it.

Hi Mish!

Glad you had a nice weekend with family. Good response to your aunt. It really is YOUR business. As long as you are content with things the way they are.

Some movement is better than no movement. Short term pain for long term gain. I'm sure it will be tough for those weeks but if Gabe gets a better job that makes him feel better about himself - it could be much better in the long run for both of you.

Happy for your update!

I love how you nipped that questioning in the bud. You tell me you haven't grown! Good for Gabe on the thinking of another job track. It will certainly make a difference for all three of you. Changes are coming!

I can almost feel it in the air....CHANGE!

Yesterday was Marc's 'meet the teacher' night for school. They start on Monday so this was the schedule pick up, pay all your fees (or all you can manage at the moment! HA!), etc. Well.....his schedule was all messed up. He only has 2 real academic classes he needs this year (econ/gov and environmental science) so the rest are filler. He had signed up to take guitar this year and he was SO excited about it. Unfortunately, guitar is only offered 1 period and it coincides with the only period they offer the econ class with the collaborative services he needs. He is SOOOOOO bummed. Poor kiddo. They put him in a food science class...no way!...and an written and oral communications class. He wanted to know if they were trying to punish him for something with that one! smile His counselor is trying to see what she can do to fix it. It's not looking too good though. He is limited with what he can do because of 2 measly collaborative classes that are locked in place.

My baby started his 'official' senior year today! WWWHHHHAAAAAAAA!!!!!! frown Just kidding. I'm fine. He is Soooooo past ready for this to be over with.

We had left his schedule mix up in his counselor's capable hands to sort out and pick an elective course for him that would fit in his schedule. HA! She put him in drama! That was hilarious. I found out last night when I logged on to his campus portal site. I didn't tell him. I thought I'd wait and see what his reaction was. It was predictable. They start school at 8:45 and at 8:54 I got a text "Mom! They put me in drama!" I tried to spin it as a good thing and how it would help him present himself well to others and improve his public speaking. He wasn't buying it. "Mom, I want it changed." Well, go talk to your counselor. You are a big boy and can handle all of that yourself. I think he got it switched to weight training. That's really more in line with his goals anyway but it was comical getting all these texts from him. LOL

To say I've stepped out of my comfort zone this week is an understatement!

Saturday I did water aerobics. I used to love it but hadn't done it in a while but my new gym didn't have a pool. I just expanded my membership to include the other locations and one has a pool and classes. Yippy!

Monday, I did Hatha Yoga! Yoga! Imagine if you will a walrus doing yoga. Got that picture yet? BINGO! That's what I looked like! It was a riot but it was still good work and I'm going back next week.

Tonight, I'm thinking of trying kickboxing. YIKE! The idea of an hour of that is a little daunting so I'm not sure if I can talk myself into it. smile If not, I will still do my usual workout.

It feels really good. It kills me that I work myself to the point of total exhaustion and eat totally clean, low-carb and haven't lost ONE SINGLE POUND! I'm royally peeved about it. You would think the 3 solid weeks of this would have at least netted me 1 pound wouldn't you? I'm getting pretty discouraged but I'm not ready to give up yet.

On the bright side, you can still be over weight but physically fit. It makes a difference. You go girl!
