The "funny" thing is partly competition on H's part I do believe. Several years ago D19 said one of her friends really liked me, that they thought I was funny. Well, H did NOT think that was funny! "What are you talking about? Everyone knows I'm the funny one!"

H likes puns, and sometimes his puns are indeed clever and funny, but not, to me, laugh out loud kind of funny. And, after all these years, I think I can too often anticipate what he'll be saying so the jokes lose some of their "punch". But sometimes he still cracks me up. Not because he meant to tell a joke though, just because of who he is.

For example.

Recently something had transpired, can't remember exactly what, maybe it was just after the most recent god-awful TALK. Whatever it was, H knew I was not a huge fan of him at that minute. (Can you say distance & pursuit?) So when TV time came, I sat in the armchair instead of on my end of the couch. H didn't like it. He huffed. Then he managed to ask nicely for me to sit on the couch with him so I did. On the very end, upright, out of reach. Lol. So H goes to get comfy but he can't quite reach me with his foot.

He orders, "Get more comfortable!"

Well I rolled. Because I was perfectly comfortable. But what King H meant of course was that he wanted to get more comfortable and how could I possibly be comfortable if he was not?

Oh the poor kid, Mz. J. That must be terrifying for him. And must rip your heart out. Sorry .....


Thanks RL. It is a hard thing to see. Talk about something you can't fix Can't fix D19's behavior and drug issues either. Can't fix anyone but myself, but that gives me plenty to do lol. What is the bible quote?

First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you will see clearly enough to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

I don't have the issues of H or of my brother or my kids, but I do have things to work on. Perhaps if I paid as much attention to me as I do those others, I'd make some progress.

Well now! THAT is something for me to think about!!
