I know what you mean about LA's dating scene. I feel like that mentality extends to relationships in general in LA (not to everyone, but many I've encountered). Either people are looking for ways you can help them out or they're looking to upgrade. I know there are good people here somewhere, though! Those who will demonstrate their worth to you and likewise make effort to demonstrate your worth to them
