Diet breaks always jump start my metabolism as does doing a totally different exercise. Say, if I have been logging a lot of KMs, I will go to Zumba or Boot Camp or do stairs instead.
H has also lost a lot of weight...70 pound range... (B@st@rd...lmao! But he looks great. I know he is having same issues as you in terms of weight loss, but is beginning to show more muscle now)
